The Carling Shirt Amnesty comes to Scotland

The Carling Shirt Amnesty comes to Scotland (2015)

Carling is the UK’s leading lager brand with a long standing heritage of top flight football sponsorship. In this latest campaign, football fans were offered the chance to trade their old team shirts for new ones during the transfer season, should they find their favourite player no longer playing for their club. Our brief was to translate this UK campaign for Scottish audiences, bringing a unique Carling experience to Scotland’s football fans in Glasgow.

We brought the Carling Shirt Amnesty van to three locations in Glasgow – Celtic and Rangers ‘fan’ bars and in the stadium on match day for Partick Thistle.  We also secured a partnership with Radio Clyde’s ‘Superscoreboard’ show to stage a first for their team of presenters: a live broadcast of the show in the Radio Clyde Bar, magically transformed into a football bar for the evening by Carling and filled with fans who were keen to have their say live on air.

Results:

High profile on-air/online coverage with Radio Clyde gaining reach figures of 1,300,000+.

Highly successful pop up events at football grounds across Glasgow that got the city talking.
